Fun San Luis Striper Morning

San Luis Reservoir Striped BassAfter freezing our butts-off chasing winter steelhead up in Washington, the thought of a warm, low-key day spent on the boat in the California sun sounded great…

…So Jeff & I headed up to San Luis reservoir to see if we could find a few stripers to harass.

The wind-lady said we’d have until noon before it started blowing – And according to the weather forecast, the afternoon highs would be in the 80’s, but the morning would be chilly.

Apparently Jeff had missed that last part…

…So when he showed up at my house without a jacket, I tossed him my old Air Force camouflaged Gortex, with a grin…

Not a big striper – but alot of fun on a 6wt!

The fishing was good. Nothing big, but we were finding fish in the usual spots on the sonar and getting into enough spunky little guys to keep it exciting.

Just a Fun day…

The wind came up, right on schedule, so we called it a day around noon. It was one of the few times the wind lady was actually right.
